Inshore Target Fish

Red Drum

Fight Level: 💪💪💪💪 — One of Florida’s hardest-fighting inshore fish. Redfish pull with power and stamina, especially the bull reds. You’ll feel every tail kick.
Taste Level: 🍽️🍽️🍽️🍽️ — Mild, clean, and flaky. Excellent blackened, grilled, or on the half shell.
About: The redfish is the poster child of Florida inshore fishing. Known for that distinctive copper glow and signature tail spot, they’re found cruising shorelines and oyster bars — and they’ll test your drag every time.

Common Snook

Fight Level: 💪💪💪💪💪 — Pure athleticism. They hit like a freight train and jump like they’re auditioning for a highlight reel.
Taste Level: 🍽️🍽️🍽️🍽️ — A top-shelf table fish (when in season). Firm, white meat with delicate flavor — no wonder Floridians call it “the saltwater snapper.”
About: Smart, strong, and moody, snook demand precision. You’ll find them lurking under docks, mangroves, and bridge shadows, waiting to ambush bait. Catching one feels like outsmarting the ocean itself.

Black Drum

Fight Level: 💪💪💪💪 — Bulldozer strength. They’ll test your tackle and your patience.
Taste Level: 🍽️🍽️🍽️ — The smaller ones are excellent table fare; big ones are better released.
About: Big shoulders, deep grunts, and a serious tug — the black drum is a classic bottom-dweller that brings the fight. Catch one over 30 pounds, and you’ll remember it.

Sheepshead

Fight Level: 💪💪💪 — Strong and stubborn with an uncanny knack for stealing bait before you know they’re there.
Taste Level: 🍽️🍽️🍽️🍽️ — Mild and delicious, similar to snapper but firmer. Excellent on the grill.
About: Known for their black stripes and human-like teeth (yes, really), sheepshead are a challenge and a reward. If you can hook one, you’ve earned it.
